T.I. Reveals Trouble Man Collaborations

During a sit-down with XXL, Tip reveals a few collaborations he has in the stash for his eighth studio album Trouble Man.
I got a record entitled ‘Trouble Man’ with R. Kelly… that’s dope. I got a record called ‘Wave Hello’ with Cee-Lo. I got a record called ‘Who Shall I Be Sorry For’ with Andre 3000. I got another record called ‘Guns and Roses’ with a surprise feature. It’s out the genre and it’s through the roof. That’s another dope record. I have records with Usher, a record with Lil Wayne song called ‘Ball.’ A record with Trey Songz. I got to figure all these records out though. I got a record with Trae Tha Truth and Juicy J called ‘Fight Music,’ produced by Mike WiLL.

3 Things SPIN Learned About Big Boi’s New Album

Yesterday afternoon at MSR Studios in NYC, Big Boi previewed a couple tracks off Vicious Lies And Dangerous Rumors (out November 13) for a few lucky folks. SPIN included, who offered up the following thoughts.
1. Big Boi Hearts Phantogram
“She’s my new Sleepy Brown” Big Boi said, comparing Barthel, who was snapping pics of the MC, to the Dungeon Family hookmaster. His connection came from a bit of kismet. Turns out Big had unknowingly heard Phantogram’s ethereal “Mouthful of Diamonds” in a commercial. After he had Shazam’d the track and figured out which band was responsible, he hit the duo up on Twitter. Carter and Barthel eventually came down to Atlanta to work on the record. Sarah handled hook duties on three of the tracks played, one of which was produced by Phantogram’s other half, guitarist Josh Carter. (That track, the spacy “Objectum Sexuality,” was a highlight.)
3. AndrĂ© 3000 Helped Set Lie’s Direction
Three Stacks didn’t add any verses to the music that Big played, but the tracks still bore his influence. Big Boi explained that early on in the process, he’d been taking the music in more of a classic funk direction. That is, until he played the tracks for A3K, who promptly told him that they sounded “old school.” Dre also turned Big onto synth-pop smoothies Little Dragon, whose singer Yukimi Nagano added vocals to Lie’s “Momma Told Me.”
4. Big Boi Has Love For the Young’uns
A$AP Rocky and Kid Cudi add verses to the album. The latter does his sing-songy emotional exorcism thing on the cinematic “She Hate Me.” Rocky pops up on the down home, slowly unwinding “Lines,” on which he works through some different vocal tics. (Barthel adds a hook to that one, too.)

50 Cent Now a Licensed Boxing Promoter

Curtis can now add the title of boxing promoter to his resume. Now holding a license to promote boxing events in New York, his next move is to get his license for the state of Nevada. Curtis’ The Money Team Promotions crew “is expected to sign former featherweight title holder Yuri Gamboa and super middleweight contender Andre Dirrell”.

Lil Wayne Announces Dedikation 4 Mixtape

Nearly four years after his previous installment of the Dedication mixtape series, Tune took to Twitter just moments ago to announce, Dedikation 4, which he now seems to have chosen to spell with a “k” after three tapes. Surely this is due to his newly found affiliation of being a blood and how much bloods are against using the letter C. Anyway, the mixtape arrives next month.

So, Nas’ Untitled Was Supposed To Be a Joint Album w/ Jay Electronica

While across seas, Nas sits down with BBC Radio 1′s Benji B to talk about Life Is Good, his relationship with Amy Winehouse, the lost record with Frank Ocean (which we now can blame Hit-Boy for losing) and more. The most important thing comes in at the 23:00 mark though as Nas reveals that he originally wanted to have Jay Electronica produce the entirety of Untitled.
