Birdman On Jay-Z Diss

Birdman spoke up recently about Jay-Z's perceived dig at him on the track "It's Good." Back in 2010, Jay tossed off a line about having 'baby money,' that everyone interpreted as a diss aimed squarely at Bryan "Birdman/Baby" Williams--and the Cash Money CEO shared his reaction to hearing the song for the first time.
"I thought that was funny for a n*gga to holler out 'baby money,'" Birdman says. "I was like, "Wow, f*ck, what do you mean 'Baby money'? N*gga, that ain't no little money. We around here getting it. It wasn't nothing, we ain't trip. I was like, 'Yeah, since it's such a big deal, f*ck yeah we got 'Baby Money.' That Bugatti and that Lauder jet comes from 'Baby Money.'"

“Rap game stressful.” According to TMZ, Curren$y is planning to sue Dame Dash for $1.5 million for allegedly selling his music without his permission.

Rapper Curren$y’s music is NOT to be trifled with — and to prove it … the MC is suing famed music producer Damon Dash, claiming he is hocking several Curren$y albums without permission.
Curren$y filed the lawsuit against Jay-Z’s old biz partner and former co-owner of Roc-A-Fella Records — claiming he and Dash tried to negotiate an agreement to release music together in 2010 … but the deal never materialized.
Curren$y claims Dash released two of his albums in 2010 — but the two still couldn’t reach an agreement … so Curren$y signed with Warner Bros. in January 2011.
But according to the lawsuit, Damon was unmoved — and CONTINUED to release Curren$y’s music despite the new WB contract, which gave WB exclusive rights to Curren$y’s jams.
Now, Curren$y is demanding the producer quit profiting off him in any way. Curren$y also wants $1.5 million in damages.
But Damon fired back at the accusations with his own response — claiming, he has the right to release the albums in question because he was given permission. What’s more — Damon says Curren$y stabbed him in the back, reneging on his agreement with Damon and signing with WB instead.
A judge has yet to rule on the case.

Dr. Dre To Produce Horror Movie

According to Variety, Dre is set to co-produce the horror thriller “Thaw” for the Crucial Films movie banner. The script for the film will be written by Vik Weet, with a story focusing on an “ancient evil that emerges from the rapidly melting ice in the Yukon.”
Dre is no stranger to the movie business, with a résumé that includes acting appearances in the 1996 heist flick “Set It Off,” as well as turns in the comedy “The Wash” and cop drama “Training Day.” He announced a deal in 2007 to team with New Line Cinema’s Crucial Films to produce a series of dark comedies and horror films and “Thaw” would be the first effort under that compact.
And, of course, Dre is also still working on his long-promised Detox album. Rick Ross recently told MTV News that he had joined the likes of Eminem, Snoop Dogg, Jay-Z, 50 Cent and Nas as a contributor
 to the top secret project. – MTV

Ol' Dirty Bastard Film Star Named

Actor Michael K. Williams has been tapped to star as fallen rapper Ol' Dirty Bastard in the film Dirty White Boy. Williams is best known for his roles as Omar on HBO's "The Wire" and Chalky White on "Boardwalk Empire." The film is being produced by company Parts & Labor (Beginners) with Ocean Side Pictures' Todd Hagopian and is based on a screenplay by Brent Hoff.
The film tells the story ODB through the eyes of a 22-year old VH1 employee named Jarred Weisfeld who becomes friends with the rapper. ODB's mother and Weisfeld have signed off on the project.
"We both knew full well who Ol' Dirty Bastard was but this story completely floored us. As filmmakers, we knew that this would make a great film and that Jarred Weisfeld would offer an actor a complicated and compelling character to play. This felt to us like 'Risky Business' and '8 Mile,' with equal elements of darkness, humor, and humanity," said Hagopian. "We are thrilled to have the genius of Joaquin Baca-Asay behind the camera, directing this incredibly original screenplay by Brent Hoff. I know Michael K. Williams will leave audiences completely in awe as Russell Jones, the man behind the character ‘Ol' Dirty Bastard."

Mobb Deep's Knicks Connection

Mobb Deep are among New York City's most respected hip hop acts, and the Queens-based duo's influence can now be traced to the sports world. The New York Knicks, in the midst of fighting for the final playoff spot in the NBA's Eastern Conference, have dubbed their role players "Mob Deep," much to the amusement of Havoc and Prodigy.
"I've heard them play our music before at different games, maybe during the highlights on the news and certain things like that," Prodigy told ESPNNewYork. "But this is the first time where the team actually called something 'Mobb Deep.' That's the Knicks. That's what's up."
"I thought it was like a one-time thing," Havoc added, "but then I started hearing about it and people kept on telling me that they mentioned it on MSG every time they have a game."
"It was a saying that we used to use in Queensbridge, describing how many of us it would be when we all went out, or if we saw another crew that had a lot of people rolling with them," he said of the term's origin. "We would be like, 'Yo, we were mobb deep last night at the movie theater,' or whatever have you -- as in a mob of us, that we were rolling deep."

Bobby Brown Slapped With Charges

Singer Bobby Brown was charged with three misdemeanor charges following his arrest for suspicion of D.U.I. earlier this week. On yesterday (March 28th), Brown was slapped with two-DUI related counts and another charge for driving on a suspended license.

Brown's attorney, Tiffany Feder, has previously released a statement denying that Brown was driving unsafely when he was pulled over.
Feder subsequently said she could not comment on Brown's case because she had not yet received the police report and other documents.

Rihanna On Ashton Rumors: ''I'm Happy and I'm Single''

Rihanna bristled at a reporter's question regarding her rumored late night fling with Ashton Kutcher. The gossip mill went into overdrive after the sexy singer was spotted visiting Kutcher's home late at night, but at a press conference in London, Rih-Rih dismissed any notion that she was in a relationship with Ashton.
A British journalist remarked to Rihanna, “You’re so good at connecting with people that I think that we actually feel we know you. Things are clearly going brilliantly in your career. I just wondered if you are as happy in your private life, and will we see a certain Mr. Ashton Kutcher perhaps making a trip over here?”

Erykah Badu Banned In Malaysia

Singer Erykah Badu has been banned from a performance in Malaysia due to a temporary tattoo that raised the ire of officials. Badu was pictured with the tattoo on her shoulder, which is a tat of the Arabic word for "Allah."
Malaysian Information Minister Rais Yatim states that the picture “triggered public criticism that could jeopardize national security and cause a negative impact to the government’s image.”
Past performers that have been banned in Malaysia include Gwen Stefani and Mariah Carey, but they were targeted for their 'revealing' wardrobes.

Nas' Wages To Be Garnished

Rapper Nas is facing garnishment from the United States government. The hip hop star's wages will be garnished due to unpaid federal taxes, according to TMZ. Documents have already been filed against Nas in the state of Georgia for his wages to be garnished.
The government will take a portion of Nas' income via music publishing organizations such as BMI and ASCAP.
According to reports, the Queens native owes approximately $6 million in back taxes.

Kat Stacks Admits Lying About Soulja Boy

Incarcerated supergroupie Kat Stacks generated a fair amount of controversy back in 2010 when she posted a video online of herself allegedly in Soulja Boy's hotel room where she claimed the rapper was a cocaine addict. Stacks is now admitting that the entire episode was staged and that the 'cocaine' in the clip was really over-the-counter drugs.
"World I have something to tell yall, some might hate me for it but im gonna clean some dirty laundry," she tweeted. "Those weren't lines of cocaine in the @souljaboy video, it was crushed up Advil pills"
"Me & some n***as staged the shower scene after @souljaboy left" she shared. "Even though I was influenced by others around me & didn't do it alone, I take full responsibility"

Swizz Beatz Prepping Alicia Keys Album

Superproducer Swizz Beatz has been working with his wife, superstar Alicia Keys, on her upcoming fifth album. The as-of-yet untitled project will be Keys' first project since getting married and becoming a mother, and Swizz promises greatness from the Grammy winner.
“She’s working on a timeless piece,” Swizz told Angie Martinez.
“The topics that she’s speaking about are super deep and from the heart, and to me what music has been missing,” Swizz shared. “It’s the thing that makes us special as an artist. I tell her, ‘Yo, I’m proud of you because you’re making timeless pieces.’”
She’s fine tuning the project and a release could come soon. “It’s showtime,” he says. “She’s moving faster than people think. She’s tightening the bolts.”

Waka Flocka Never Teamed With Suge?

Despite reports several months ago that rapper Waka Flocka Flame had signed a management agreement with former Death Row head Suge Knight, Waka is now saying that there was never any type of deal in place between he and the notorious former mogul.
"I ain't sign no partnership with Suge Knight ever in my life," Wakal said. "Suge to me, he was just an OG in the game. If a guy go [and] express his feelings towards me and tell me what he like of me or the mistakes he made so I don't make the mistakes, why not listen to him? You feel what I'm saying? Just because you talk, holla at a person or eat a burger with a person, hang with a person for a day, don't mean they handling all of your business. They scared of that sh*t, though, so they gonna throw it in the media. They don't want it with a n***a like Suge."

Nas Talks About His Upcoming Album

conversation with MTV, Nas spoke on his upcoming album, tentatively titled “Life Is Good”, and what to expect from the project. “A lot of the tracks have [come from ideas] where I would take an idea from one of the guys that I’m working with and try to put it together with a different sound that I had in my head, or with someone else,” he explained. “[I] just try to get people to collaborate who are not really used to working together and to get something different from me.

American Airlines May Finally Be Sold

Bloomberg reports that US Airways (NYSE: LCC) has approached unsecured creditors of American Airlines parent AMR about buying the airline as its leaves bankruptcy. AMR management says it plans for the carrier to stay independent. That is a bad idea. The current economic environment and fuel prices would challenge the ability of a “new” American to be viable.

AMR will have a number of financial advantages in Chapter 11. Some of its plane leases could be voided. It likely will be able to alter employee contracts. It will dismiss thousands of workers and may be able to change their pensions. Planes will be taken out of service so that capacity within the carrier’s system can be adjusted to allow for more profitability.

All of these advantages may be too little for American to stay financially viable once its bankruptcy ends. The International Air Transport Association recently reported that airline profits globally are headed toward zero this year. Further, the organization believes that industry profits could disappear completely in 2012 if fuel costs get much higher and remain at those levels. The head of Emirates, one of the largest and best-funded carriers, expects that some airlines will be unable to weather the harshness the industry faces for the balance of the year.

The bankruptcy court has a number of options in the AMR case. One is to force American into the kind of consolidation that Northwest set with Delta (NYSE: DAL) and that United (NYSE: UAL) set with Continental two years ago. Each was partially the result of high fuel prices in 2008. Another reason was the falling global economy. Those circumstances may exist now, or will in the near future.

Even with the advantages of Chapter 11. American probably cannot survive on its own.

{ ENGAGEMENT } Ricky & Christine

Bryan and I are truly blessed to be surrounded by so much love, talent, and pure awesomeness in our families.  And when it comes down to our cousins Ricky and Christine, awesomeness suddenly becomes an understatement.   I absolutely adore couples that reflect the best of themselves in each other.  In first meeting, Christine simply bursts with a bubbly (not to mention contagious) energy while Ricky comes off more reserved and mellow.  She's an aspiring actress; He's a musician; She reminds him when to relax and take a break from work; He keeps her grounded (in a good way, of course).  Together they create a beautiful balance of love and energy and form the creative duo behind Yodsukar Photography.  Specialized in Weddings & Engagements, It isn't surprising that these two lovebirds share and capture love for a living.  But now THEY are the ones getting married and it's so exciting to finally see them in front of the camera.

When Christine asked me to style their shoot I was beyond excited but a little intimidated as well.  Aside from shopping, clothes swapping, and lending clothes to my girlfriends, the only "styling" I really do is my own personal outfits.  But this small "project" turned out to be all of the above.  Christine came over to shop my closet and play a little dress up, and three outfits later I came up with Christine's vision of "Free People" and "Va-va-vooom!" 

Congrats again Ricky and Christine!  Thanks for letting me play!  I love you guys!!!

Bow Wow Announces New “Underrated” Album Release Date

After numerous delays, it looks like Bow Wow is getting ready to finally drop his “Underrated” album. He took to his Twitter today to announce that the new release date is June 12th. Time will tell if that date will stick. Peep the tracklist here.
